June was cooler than normal in Morzine in 2024, but July has warmed up nicely and has been mostly sunny with temperatures in the mid twenties. The outdoor swimming complex plus Lac Montriond have been available to cool down! We participate in the Portes du Soleil Multi-Pass system – this means our guests get a card each for the duration of their summer holiday giving unlimited access to numerous activities throughout the area, including free ski lifts travel and entry to the swimming pool complex. The main ski lifts – with access for walkers and mountain bikers/bikes – are open from 14June to 15 September.

The classic Passportes du Soleil mountain biking event weekend took place 29 – 30 June, 3 days of mountain biking across the Portes du Soleil. The classic circuit is 80km long, it includes 7000m of downhill and 1000m of uphill. 15 lifts give you access to 9 different resorts, with some great riding along the way.

This mountain biking weekend sees cyclists of all abilities tackling the VTT routes of the Portes du Soleil. You can start from a number of resorts throughout the region and the route should take just one day so you can enter on either Friday, Saturday or Sunday (or all if you’re a bit keen!) Refreshment points and marshalls ensure that everything runs smoothly so turn up and get muddy! Participants can register in advance on the Pass’Portes du Soleil website. The trails range in altitude from 2250m – 1000m and take riders through both France and Switzerland. All routes use the areas comprehensive lift network meaning that much of the uphill work is done from the comfort of a chairlift and all you have to do is enjoy the downhill. Riders tackling the full 80km circuit are rewarded with a whopping 6500m of descent! However, if you prefer to earn your descents with a bit of uphill pedalling, then each route has an alternate section enabling you to get your head down and get a bit of a sweat on. Likewise, for hardcore downhillers, options are available to deviate off the main drag onto some steeper, more technical sections where you can really put those downhill bikes through their paces.

The Morzine Spartan race – one of the toughest races on the European circuit – returned on 06 – 07 July with different distances and age group.

The Harley Davidson “Harley Days” weekend took place 13 – 14 July, with the whole town reverberating to thousands of fabulous harleys riding througout the town with top groups playing each night – a unique experience!

The Mont Blanc Rallye comes to Morzine again this year for 05 – 07 September, bringing a mix of beautiful classic and modern rally cars screaming around every hairpin bend in the vicinity.
