OUR LOVELY CLIENTS

I have to say we were blown away by the apartment. The fire is just a great centre piece. The bedrooms were spacious with immaculate bathrooms. The range of pots/pans/general appliances made it very easy to cook dinner as we were not short for anything and the Smeg fridge is a nice touch. We enjoyed the range of board games on those evenings when we stayed in. Articulate being a particular favourite, which we regularly play at home and after a few drinks becomes hilarious. In terms of conditions – clear blue skies and above freezing temperatures made for stunning days but not stunning skiing, however we made the best of what was there and found that the top of Avoriaz was still in pretty good shape. It was also a local holiday (or so we were told) and therefore the slopes were busy and the morning lift queues (Morzine and Supermorzine) were horrible. On the 4th day we discovered Ardent. Is this the Gondola you recommend in your welcome pack? If not it should be. Never a queue and takes you to Les Lindarets from here quick access to Avoriaz and Chatel guaranteed! The Stash Park is also based there which we would still be in now if we hadn’t had to come home. All in all a great time.

We stayed for two weeks in this lovely home. Its situated in a wooded valley 10 minutes away from Morzine by car (free parking throughout the region, which was a bonus). Unfortunately no mountain views, which we missed after having at last years holiday. The house was immaculate; cleaners were friendly and very helpful. Bonus of a quick clean and change of sheets/towels mid-stay; strangely enough the towels were the only things not to the same high standard as rest of house (though perfectly ok). The photos/ description on the website do the house justice. All 4 double bedrooms were en-suite with comfortable beds and good storage (loads of wooden hangers). We loved the upside-down nature of the house (bedrooms on ground floor) as this gave a really spacious, open-plan living area. High wooden ceilings with a great panorama through the large windows. It was very easy to either be together or sit quietly on ones own. Nice little seating area which gets the sun, until it disappears over the mountains. Would have liked a couple of comfy sun chairs though! Cooking facilities and equipment of a really high standard, nothing was lacking. Extensive selection of DVDs, games etc which really helped during the variable weather, also good phone and WiFi reception. Plentiful supply of hot water but be patient, it takes a little while to arrive! Lots of great adventure sports that one can do very easily, must be heaven for mountain bikers (can take bikes up all the chairlifts in the area). Something different for us was watching ice hockey games in Morzine, fabulous! Swimming pool complex good (speedos only) with a smaller indoor area. Would recommend the restaurant only pool Ive been to with champagne and steak on the menu! Very friendly staff. Great place for walking, especially enjoyed walking from St Jean DAulps to the monastery, again great food, simplistic reminiscent of its monastic days. Wide range of restaurants in Morzine ( we liked the Clin DOeil especially) but to be honest, everywhere we went was good; Plat du Jour about €12 per person. Would definitely recommend this house. The owner has been really friendly and easy to talk to, both beforehand and during our stay.

We were blown away when we let ourselves into the chalet on the ground floor and then walked upstairs to the incredible open plan living area. As 2 families staying together with 6 children ranging from a baby to a 10 year old it gave us the perfect environment to keep everyone happy. Comfy beds, plenty of storage and hot showers even when several were running at once! The kids loved having their own bathrooms and even used them to shower occasionally without being asked! The kitchen was very well equipped and there were plenty of games to keep us amused. Although the property is along the valley a little from the centre of Morzine we found the location lovely. The VTT trail to Let Gets is recommended for both walking and mountainbiking- pick it up opposite the bus stop. Having stayed in central Morzine on our last visit, we found that we explored the area more this time. We used the free car park along the Route De La Plegny which is an easy walk either into town or down to the river where you can find Indiana Parc for high ropes, pony rides or continue on to the swimming pool. Loved LEtale restaurant in town. Thank you to Peter for his prompt replies to our queries and the fulsome information sent before our arrival. We hope to use Chalet Lucie again in the near future to explore this beautiful part of the world some more.

We stayed at Chalet Lucie in 2010 and again this year (2011). The chalet lives up to the lovely pictures with a great open plan top floor. Good cooking facilities, a large dining table, a pool table, ample seating, large TV with DVD and Sky, and of course the WiFi, meant that an evening in was an attractive option. 4 bedrooms all en-suite and plenty of hot water, take all the hassle out of getting in on an evening and getting out on the morning. And as you can see from the photos, the general standard of the place is top notch. The chalet is a little too far out of town for walking to be a sensible option, but the bus stops are close by. Bus is good for the Morzine Slopes and for the Super Morzine lift (leading to Avoriaz). However, my preference is having my own transport. It makes shopping easy (good supermarket 3 mins drive away), eating in town (5 mins) and my preferred option for Avoriaz, driving to Les Prodains (10 mins) and catching the chair lift or cable car there. Nice run down at the end of the day straight to the bar at the bottom! The chalet has plenty of its own parking complete with a large car port. The chalet was great last year so we decided to return this year only to find it had new owners. They have made some small but extremely useful changes. The garage is now fitted out as a ski/board and boot room. This had been a miss the year before. There is a key system that means if your group splits up theres never any issues with organising whos got the key etc. Extra coat hangers in the hall. Little things that all help to make the holiday enjoyable and hassle free. Lastly but not least, dealing with the owners was an absolute pleasure. They proved to be both flexible and helpful and I get the impression that they are interested in making your holiday fun. If youre looking at Morzine and you want a chalet sleeping around the 8 mark, I would put this one top of your list.

Bonjour Peter, nous passons un excellent séjour, votre chalet est magnifique. Il fait très beau également.

Audrey et famille, May 2022

“We enjoyed a fabulous week at Chalet Lucie in July.  Peter’s delightful chalet apartment is situated on a quiet lane within striking distance of Morzine and a short walk to a boulangerie.  The chalet itself was perfect for our family, including three teenagers. During our stay, there was no one staying in the neighbouring apartment so it felt like we had the whole building to ourselves, we were not disturbed and never felt overlooked.  Spacious bedrooms, with comfy beds, are on the ground floor, each with their own ensuite and a large open plan kitchen, sitting/dining room on the first floor, which was a wonderful social space.  The kitchen is especially well kitted out with everything you could possibly need, and we appreciated the small touches – providing tea/coffee, bin bags, cleaning items etc.  We had a great time exploring this area we know well from skiing, but possibly even better in summer!  We shall definitely return and recommend to anyone with an active family who also appreciates ‘home from home’ accommodation.”

Guests from the spring and summer 2022:

Hi Peter

In terms of feedback, I already left a tripadvisor review. Personally I think youre underselling the chalet for summer guests by not including some photos of the garden areas. Its a great space and really useful. My boys are older but I can imagine it would be perfect for younger families.

I cant think of anything else that would have improved our stay. The living area is really fantastic. I wouldnt hesitate to stay again or to recommend it. Location is ideal.

Now that you have the multipass I think you should also make a song and dance about that. We found that scheme to be excellent and made use of it every day more or less.

Sorry I cant offer anything else up…thanks again, we had a superb holiday.

Summer 2022:

Hi Peter

Sorry for the slow reply, it was a long weekend travelling and we have both been back in work today. Thank you for allowing us to stay in you beautiful chalet. The 7 of us had a truly amazing time there and are already thinking about when we can return. The chalet is superbly equipped with everything that you could ever need and it really felt like a ‘homely’ home. I bet the place is stunning in the winter with the log burner lit.
Thank you for everything
