Morzine is a village with an assertively Savoyard character and perfectly-controlled development. At an altitude of 1000 m, its woody, hilly environment contrasts with the sheer mountains that surround it. The quality of the service at its restaurants, allied with high-quality local production, make Morzine a top pick for Savoyard gastronomy. Choose delicious fondues and “braserades” (a small table top barbeque), all enhanced by Savoyard or Gamay wines.

Summer activities include mountain biking, climbing and walking, fishing, canyoning, bird-watching, horse riding and golf. There is a children's adventure park and sports centre with outdoor water park.

No visit to Morzine is complete without a visit to “L’alpage” to watch mountain cheese being made ( entrance free), every Wednesday and Thursday at 9 a.m. Or you could discover the work of Franck BUET, a young slate-miner.
